I think the most inspirational part of Terry's story was when he cried over the young boy who was battling from a loss from a leg. He showed that kids are getting this disease and he wanted everyone to know that he will always be inspired by the young boy. I also was very inspired by the socks meaning to him. That he wore it everyday he run and when he was hospitalized he finally took it off showing that his life is coming to an end.

The media covered Terry Fox very well. They wanted to sow everyone that one person can make a difference. They covered him being a celebrity and he wasn't doing anything for himself he was doing it for the people who have cancer. I learned from HIV/AIDS is that 4 out of 10 people die from aids. You can get it from sexual intercourse from heterosexual/homosexual. Many people don't want to associate with people who have AIDS because they are scared they will get the disease. I know if someone I knew had AIDS I wouldn't want to play sports with them and also I wouldn't want to be best friends with them.

The comeback award was established in 2001 and it is for a man or women who play collegiate basketball student-athletes in all NCAA division levels. It is for a team player or a whole team who show spirit and courage throughout the year.

Dallas Blocker was a basketball player who played for Youngstown State University and won the Jimmy V comeback award because of his strength of not giving up after he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He endured chemotherapy 6 hours 5 days a week. After 7 months he was back in the starting line up for his team. He deserved this award because he beat out cancer and never gave up.

Dawn Evans a basketball player for James Madison won the Jimmy V comeback player award. She was diagnosed with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis a disease that attacks the kidneys. She only missed 3 out of 60 games in her career. Her determination helps her not quit and give up. This as helped her gain respect from her teammate, coaches, and medical personnel. As well as being a leader she has broke around 40 school records. She never quit and this helped her get recognized by the league.

Marcus DuPree

The most selfish thing that Marcus Dupree did was leave his team because he thought he was being treated unfairly. He was the best player on the team and to abandon it is childish and selfish. He also held out of games because he did not want to get hurt. Team players put the team in front of themselves.

I do not feel bad for Marcus Dupree he had everything coming to him but he was lazy and made poor choices that ended his career. If he just stayed with his team he would have been part of a national championship team.

What shocked me the most is that before this documentary i have never heard of Marcus Dupree. The superstar he was and all the news about him I would think that that 30 years later he would still be talked about in the football world.I do not like that because he deserves to be talked about once in a while. Also what shocked me was his laziness. He could have been the best but he did not apply himself until late in his career.

Kobe and Phelps

I think Kobes trial did effect his celebrity status. Many people started to dislike Kobe because of the Trial. It took years for people to forget about it. To this day people still remember Kobes trial but it does not hurt his fan/celebrity status.

I think that the media defiantly over reacted to the picture of Phelps. I do not think he is a bad role model for kids. He did nothing wrong to hurt anyone. He is a regular human being and he should be treated like one. Many kids still look up to Phelps.

Selfish

I do not agree with this article! I think the man who write this is very jealous of athletes. They have worked hard their entire life to get to where they are. I think most athletes  who are selfish have been selfish there entire life. I do not think sports made them selfish. Its who they are as a person that makes them selfish. I read the second college essay and i noticed that the authors approach was very interesting. After rereading the essay i started understanding what the author was talking about. She was saying that she is a very strong women and had many unique ways of looking at life. The authors unique because she acts differently then a normal women. She isn't fake like most girls and isn't afraid of doing something different. I enjoyed the whole essay but what really interested me was when she was at the beach by herself and she forgot who she was for a moment but once she got in the water her she truly new who she was. This essay was very hard to understand but at the same time i have never read something like this before and it was very enjoyable to read.
